First of all, who am I?
I’m a Pediatric Surgeon.
I completed my high school education at Tarsus American College, my university education at Cerrahpaşa English Faculty of Medicine, and my Pediatric Surgery education at Cerrahpaşa. Later, I started working at the American Hospital and currently I still work there. After becoming an Associate Rrofessor, I took part in the establishment of Koç University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Surgery and I continue my job as a lecturer. After introducing myself briefly, I want to tell where this passion of blogs came from.
After I started my clinical life, I witnessed that pediatric surgery is still not well known by the society. Actually, people are right. Because in many places, adult surgeons, urologists, thoracic surgeons can also operate on pediatric patients. Because of this, I wanted to explain what we are doing as a pediatric surgeon.
My articles were published and I gave speeches in many places. It was upsetting to see that sometimes the information I provided was incorrectly changed and circulated on the Internet. Therefore, I aimed to share up-to-date information, mainly my own interests, on the social media platform.
I have been interested in the sea since my childhood. For this reason, I decided to name my blog as “The Pediatric Surgeon’s journal”. I will try to inform you in my own way, once every fifteen days, sometimes once a month, without boring you.
At first, I will tell about my own work. When I learn these things thoroughly, I will give you the current medical information that I think is incomplete or wrong in the society. And even give you the information that I think may be interesting, with the consciousness of how life is not just about medicine.
